Humans are most common in the areas around Drakeford and Redhill, though they can be found anywhere in the region (except, of course, for the Fey Mount). Most of the civilized folk of the valley tend to look at humans as a failed race (though often, but not always, seen as a bit superior to half orcs). They had their day, now they have fallen into disgrace and ineffectiveness. Though they form a distinct underclass in Drakeford and Redhill, humans are actually most common amongst the barbaric tribes of the surrounding areas. The most common classes for humans are barbarian, fighter, ranger, or rogue.
There are a number of tribes in the vicinity of Drakeford and Redhill who firmly identify as “Humans.” Similarly to the Elves of Aulin’ Sepuliah, these Human tribesfolk are concerned with communal boundaries and racial purity. They identify themselves as the true and legitimate heirs of the Human empire of Nerath. Some identify as the remnants of the Kingdom of White River as well, but this is less common and less significant in most cases. This identification with Nerath is so strong that many will call themselves the “Tribes of Nerath” or the “Neratian Tribes.” Some will use “Nerathian” to distinguing their “pure” racial identities from other so-called “Humans.”
